Brad Goodyer

Awarded: October 2025

On behalf of our club, it is a tremendous honour to formally acknowledge and award Life Membership to Brad Goodyer.

Brad’s journey with our club began three decades ago in 1995, as a young player in the under 12s. His dedication and passion for the game quickly shone through, leading him to the under 16s in 1998 where he celebrated his first grand final victory. In 2002, not only did Brad captain the under 16s to another premiership, but he also claimed the title of leading goal kicker, highlighting his leadership and sporting prowess.

Brad made his senior debut in 2001 while still eligible for under 16s—an early testament to his skill and commitment. His football career has been defined by resilience and perseverance, from enduring four heartbreaking senior grand final defeats to overcoming a serious, potentially career-ending leg injury in 2016. Yet, Brad never gave up hope of achieving the ultimate team success. His persistence paid off in 2018, when he played a pivotal role in our first NTFA Senior Premiership—a moment Brad holds as his proudest, shared with lifelong mates and teammates.

With 367 club games to his name, Brad stands third on our all-time games played list and, including his seasons in the Fingal Valley, has amassed an extraordinary 396 career games—a milestone reached by very few. There may yet be more games to come, further adding to his remarkable tally.

Brad’s on-field achievements are matched by his collection of individual honours, including leading goal kicker, best back man, and best in finals. Off the field, his service has been just as valuable: Brad has contributed as a member of the general committee, vice president, assistant bar manager, and as a dedicated assistant with the Auskick program. He’s also lent a hand with junior central umpiring and has diligently kept our games played records up to date. When our Senior Women’s team needed a coach to see out the season, Brad stepped up without hesitation and handled the responsibility with great capability.

Throughout his journey, Brad has always valued the unwavering support of his family, friends, and teammates. His loyalty, hard work and team spirit have left a lasting legacy at our club.

Brad, we are deeply grateful for your outstanding service and commitment, both on and off the field. Your long-term contribution is a source of immense pride—not only for yourself but for everyone associated with our club. We sincerely hope your involvement continues for many years to come.

We now invite you and fellow Life Member, Rick ‘Gadget’ Crossingham, to join us at the podium. Gadget will have the honour of presenting you with your Life Membership badge. Congratulations, Brad, on this well-deserved recognition.
